Track 3: "The Disciple"s Best Prayer"

One day I was reading from the New Testament in the Bible. The phrase, "Teach us to pray", uttered by an unnamed disciple, just jumped out at me.

The Disciple’s Best Prayer

He didn’t ask for money. He didn’t ask for great wealth.
He didn’t ask for fame, long life, or good health.
He didn’t even ask it just for himself.

And, when he asked the question, Master, teach us to pray,
Did he make Jesus day?
For he already prayed his best prayer that day.

For, all he wanted was to know God and His Christ,
And to follow Jesus in the Way.

So, when he asked the question, Master, teach us to pray,
Did he make Jesus day?
For he already prayed his best prayer that day.

And Jesus answered right away
With the Lord’s Prayer.
