A stranger stepped into the coffee shop,
And time seemed to stop.
And everyone swore he heard the stranger
Call him by name.
And our hearts all burned within us the same.

He said, “I have family from here to Timbuktu
Of every color and of every hue,
But one thing is true,
I love all of you,
All of you,
All of you.

But if you knew,
If you knew,
If you knew . . .

If you knew you had a brother, or a sister,
In a town or country somewhere
That they were about to
Strike
From the air,
Would you say, “Let it drop”?
Or, would you say, “Stop”?

Yeah, if you had a brother somewhere
That they were about to
Strike
From the air,
Would you say, “Let it drop”?
Or, would you say, “Stop”?

Or, if you had a sister somewhere
That they were about to
Strike
From the air,
Would you say, “Let it drop”?
Or, would you say, “Stop”?

And, as we listened, our hearts all burned within us the same.
And, later, everyone swore he heard the stranger
Call him by name.
And time seemed to stop
The day the stranger,
The stranger
Stepped into the coffee shop.
